Supporting Make-A-Wish UK as they grant many more Disneyland Paris wishes

February 2025 –

We are delighted to hear that last year, our funding enabled Make-A-Wish UK to grant the Disneyland Paris Wishes of 100 children with a critical condition living in the UK. Following this year’s grant of £520,000, we look forward to working alongside the team once again as they continue to grant many more transformational Disney wishes.

“We’re so grateful to The Kentown Wizard Foundation for making our Disneyland Paris wishes possible. Their support is incredible, and enables us to create magical memories for children like Daisy who have faced unimaginable challenges.”

Jason Suckley, Chief Executive, Make-A-Wish UK

Seven-year-old Daisy lives with Kcna1, a genetic condition. On top of this, she also has a multi-system disorder, causing several other health issues. She uses a ventilator 24/7, occasionally requires PEG feeding to make sure she gets the nutrients she needs and largely uses a wheelchair due to a muscle weakness. So far, Daisy is the only person known to have both of her conditions.

Being diagnosed at just three weeks old means Daisy doesn’t know any different:
“In her mind, there’s nothing wrong with her, but she wants to do things that she thinks she can do but can’t. She always has to have an adult with her, so she misses out on one-to-one time with her peers. She can only spend one-to-one time with her sister” explained mum.

Daisy and her family don’t let her condition hold her back: “she’s a little adrenaline seeker and loves watching Disney films. One of her favourite characters is Donald Duck as her favourite animal is a duck! She says ‘duck’ when we see one!” said Mum.

When the family found out Daisy’s wish ‘to go to Disneyland Paris’ was being granted they were so shocked. Travelling abroad is extremely difficult for families like Daisy’s, with many obstacles to overcome before the trip has even begun. Which is why Wishgranters are an integral part of the Make-A-Wish UK team. They organise everything in advance and are there at every step of the planning process to support each families needs.

On her wish, Daisy had fun on the rides and got to meet the main man himself, Donald Duck! Not only this, but she got to share a bunk bed with older sister Freya, something they’d never been able to do before

“The Make-A-Wish team do such an amazing job and our wishes really did come true”

“It has been a privilege to work alongside Make-A-Wish UK for the past 8 years. These Disneyland Paris wishes not only bring joy and wonder to children like Daisy but also inspire confidence and create unforgettable memories for them and their families. Make-A-Wish are a dedicated team and we look forward to seeing what special moments they create for families with their new grant this year”
