February 2025 - We are delighted to hear that last year, our funding enabled...
Read moreThis weekend marked another successful Santa Dash and our 8th year funding the event. This annual festive jaunt, saw Blackpool’s famous promenade become a sea of Santas. An unbelievable 1,700 people dressed as Father Christmas completed the 3km charity run, raising funds for Brian House Children’s Hospice.
Organisers at the hospice say this year’s event has raised an incredible £38,000. The funds will go towards caring for local children with very complex needs and life-limiting conditions. Brian House supports these children and their families at every step of their difficult and unpredictable journey.
Debbie Bamber, Operations Manager of The Kentown Wizard Foundation said:
“The Brian House, Santa Dash is an event we look forward to every year at The Kentown Wizard Foundation. Seeing the community come together in such huge numbers to support their local children’s hospice is incredible. We are very proud to be able to offer our support.”
As a special gift this year, all participants were entered into a prize draw to win one of five £50 Smyths Toys vouchers or one of three cash prizes of £250.
Sally Insley, Head of Fundraising (Interim) at Brian House Children’s Hospice, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted that everyone who joined us and either raised sponsorship for their dash or made a donation has helped to raise such an incredible amount of money for Brian House’s specialist hospice care.
It’s thanks to those people who truly have stepped it up for charity that we can continue to be there for local families who rely on their local children’s hospice. With their generosity, we can look to the future with confidence. We know that we are able to provide outstanding care for our area’s bravest children living with a life-limiting condition.
A huge thank you to all of our participants. To the wonderful volunteers who supported us on the day and to our marvellous events sponsors, The Kentown Wizard Foundation.”
