– The Kentown Wizard Foundation supports Rainbow Trust in strengthening its Northwest Care Team.
Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. They offer bespoke support to the whole family, regardless of diagnosis and are there for as long as a family needs them.
A dedicated team of family support workers and committed volunteers offer families a lifeline at home, in hospital or in the community. This can be anything from respite care, sibling support, transporting families to and from the hospital to simply cooking a meal that Mum or Dad is too busy to cook.
There are an estimated 86,625 children in England with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. This number has trebled over the last 17 years and continues to rise. Thousands of families have to face the very real possibility that their child may die and struggle to cope on a day-to-day basis. Rainbow Trust Family Support Workers provide a lifeline to these families and children.
Currently, Rainbow Trust’s Northwest Care Team offers limited services to some families receiving treatment at Alder Hey Hospital, but is not in a position to offer any community-based support to families in that same area. There is a significant need for this tailored emotional and practical support in Liverpool and the surrounding areas. We are proud to be able to provide the funding needed to expand their services over the next 3 years to even more families needing emotional and practical assistance.
